© Davis Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma Printed With Permission August 2007 October 7, 1937 ~ August 11, 2007 Edith Ellen Riggs, lifelong Cushing resident, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital, at the age of 69 years. The daughter of the late Ted Riggs and Alice Riggs, Edith was born on October 7, 1937 in Cushing. She attended Lincoln grade school and graduated from Cushing High School with the class of 1957. Edith was a member of the Salvation Army Church of Cushing and later the Salvation Army Church of Stillwater. She was an employee at OSU, Stillwater, serving in the food department. She loved serving meals to the football team and coaches and she enjoyed watching the OSU football games. Edith loved to talk; she always had a smile on her face and a joke to share with others, no matter how she was feeling. She also enjoyed being involved with the Cushing Alumni Hall. Survivors include one sister, Betty Carroll of Yukon; one brother, Lee Riggs of Cushing; other relatives and numerous friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Riggs and Gregory Riggs and one sister, Carol Riggs. Services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Major Don Harris of Salvation Army Church of Ponca City, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery. |
