Pauline Newton, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 88 years.
The daughter of the late Earnest Newton and Eva Harris Newton, Pauline was born on December 28, 1923 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and was raised and educated in the Shawnee, OK area.
Pauline had worked as a nurse’s aid for many years prior to her retirement in 1979.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She enjoyed working in her garden, sewing and was an avid cat lover.
She is survived by many friends including Nute and Norma Odle, who had been her caregivers for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Lorean Newton and one brother Earnest Ray Newton.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Kevin Vogele and Ralph Hickman officiating.
