Allie [Annis] Moore
July 25, 1884 ~ March 6, 1957


Mr. and Mrs. Ray Annis of Wirt attended the funeral Saturday at the Cushing Methodist Church for his sister, Mrs. Guy Moore, who lived at Cushing.

She died Wednesday last week after several weeks hospitalization.

Burial was at Cushing.

The funeral was also attended by another brother, Frank Annis of Stillwater, formerly of Wirt.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Methodist Church at Cushing where she had spent most of her married life.

Surviving are four sons and five daughters; three brothers, Ray Annis of Wirt, Frank Annis of Stillwater, Roy Annis of Portland, Oregon, and several grandchildren.

Edith Ruie [Lamb] Moore
March 7, 1915 ~ December 7, 2020


Edith Lamb Moore, age 105, passed away peacefully December 7, 2020 at her residence in Cushing, Oklahoma.

She was born on March 7, 1915 to Jacob and Alena Lamb of Cushing. She was one of 8 children, four boys and four girls.

On August 7, 1936 she married Hulan Moore and of this union they had two loving, devoted daughters, Lorinda Davis, of Ripley, and husband Eric, and Huletta Thrash, of Cushing, and husband Jerry.

She was blessed with four grandchildren, Lori Brown, and husband Darrel Brown, Jake Wilson, Sheila Edgerton and husband Mark, and Suzie Reece and 10 great grandchildren Erica Lorrett, Erin Fluman, David Edgerton, Trey and Cade Reece, Haydan, Gunnar, and Hallie Thrash and Amber and Trevor Thrash. Edith also has two great, great granddaughters Avery Lorrett and Bristol Fluman.

Edith enjoyed a home full of family and friends. She always offered to put an extra plate on to table to whomever wanted to stay for dinner. Her elaborate Sunday dinners were shared by many over the years.

Edith was always a good sport. Her husband Hulan loved cars particularly the Nash Rambler. He found a contest in one of his car magazines and insisted she enter it. She won the contest, and the family was able to go to California. They went to Disney Land, Knox Berry Farms and Catalina Island.

In May of 2019 she was honored to be the Grand Marshall of the Cushing Alumni Parade. Edith’s life has been very full and without a dull moment.

She enjoyed sewing and crafts. She has shared her creations with many friends and family members. Edith begin sewing as a teenager. She made a lot of her own clothes and drafted her own patterns. She especially enjoyed sewing for her two daughters and grandchildren. She often made formals and costumes along with their everyday clothes.

Edith and her sister, Olive, machine quilted over 3,000 quilts for people along with the many quilts they made as gifts for others. She always kept busy. Her work and hobbies included gardening, canning, caring for her cattle and having beautiful flowers surrounding her farmhouse.

She was a member of Home Demonstration Club, and the First Baptist Church. Edith was an active volunteer at her daughters’ school and went on to spent much of her time cheering her grandchildren on in their activities.

 Edith was close to her eight siblings and their children always welcoming family to her home for a visit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hulan and siblings Charles Lamb, Phillip Lamb and his wife Lucille, Raymond Lamb his wife Ava, Dick Lamb, Olive Lamb, Ethel Roberson and her husband Delmar, and Iva Lee Cates and her husband Glen.

She is survived by one sister in law, Zora Lamb and numerous loved nieces and nephews.

Edith was strong, determined and fiercely independent. She has set an amazing example of hard work and determination for us all.  She has seen everything from horse pulled wagons to computers. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 10th at 2:00pm Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Ok

Harry Anthony Moore Jr
April 29, 1922 ~ August 3, 2006


Harry Anthony Moore was born on April 29, 1922, to Harry Anthony and Mamie Jones Moore, in Grant County, Oklahoma, and died on August 3, 2006, at the age of 84.

He graduated from Blackwell High School in 1940 and joined the United States Marine Corps. He completed St. Mary's pre-flight school in California, earning his wings and commission as a second lieutenant.

Following five years of service to his country, Harry returned home to further his education at the University of Oklahoma, receiving a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering. While attending O.U. he was a member of the Sooner football squad, where he played center and was elected co-captain of the first national championship team in 1950. Upon graduation, Harry worked for the Western Company in Texas before relocating to Cushing, Oklahoma, where he formed Massey and Moore Oil Company.

In 1975, Harry moved to Oklahoma City and established Moore and Associates, from which he had recently retired. He married Catherine Harper Scallon in Blackwell, OK and they were the parents of five children. He later married Rita King Moore in Oklahoma City.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Michele Moore Hughes and husband Jack, Edmond; daughter, Virginia Kay Moore, Edmond; son, Brad Anthony Moore and wife Deanie, Victoria, Texas, son, Jon Patrick Moore, Oklahoma City; and grandsons, Jon Markham Hughes, Matthew Anthony Moore, and Scott Bradford Moore. Survivors also include three sisters, Ruth Lusk Bradley, Nardin; Wilma Moore Oathout, Caldwell, Kansas; and Virginia Moore Winter, Blackwell.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Teresa, his parents, sister Frances Moore Rowe, and infant brother Theodore Price Moore.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of St. Ann Nursing Home for their exceptional care and compassion.

Graveside services will be Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma. A memorial service celebrating Harry's life will be held Friday, August 11, 2006, at The First Presbyterian Church, 1001 South Rankin, Edmond. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, The American Heart Association or St. Ann Nursing Home.

Catherine Harper [Scallon] Moore
January 8, 1923 ~ July 27, 2003


Catherine Scallon, 80, passed away July 27,2003, in her Edmond home after a most courageous, dignified battle with cancer.

She was born January 8, 1923, in Cumberland, MD, to Wilfred David and Dolly Virginia Poling Scallon.

On October 27, 1945, in Blackwell, OK, Catherine and Harry Anthony Moore were united in marriage at St Joseph’s Catholic church, Blackwell, and together had five children.

A 1944 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Catherine was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

She was also a friend of Bill W. for 27 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Mary Teresa Moore.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Michele Moore Hughes, and husband, Jack, of Edmond; son, Brad Anthony Moore, and wife, Deanie, of Cushing, OK; son, Jon Patrick Moore, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Virginia Kay Moore, of Edmond, and grandsons, Jon Markham Hughes, Matthew Anthony Moore, and Scott Bradford Moore. Survivors also include two brothers, Wilfred David Scallon II of Austin, Texas, Charles Elliott Scallon of Norman, OK, and sister, Susan Scallon Sapp of Edmond.

A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the Smith & Kernke Chapel, 14624 N. May.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 31, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 9th & Boulevard, Edmond.

Graveside services will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, OK, at 2:30 PM.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Tim Grode; caregivers, Stephanie Boyle and Nell Harris; and the Mission Hospice team of Donell Houts, Christy Gordon and Jan Williams for their exceptional care and devotion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Brad Anthony Moore
June 17, 1952 ~ January 24, 2013


Brad Anthony Moore, 60 of Tulsa was born on June 17, 1952, to Harry Anthony and Catherine Scallon Moore in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Brad passed away on January 24, 2013.

Brad graduated from Cushing High School in 1970. He was a four year letterman in football and was honored by being voted team captain his senior year. A gifted athlete, Brad was selected to the All State Football Team. He greatly respected his coach and mentor, Faye O’Dell.

He furthered his education at the University of Oklahoma receiving his B.S. degree in Business Administration.

Brad Moore and Deanie Long were united in marriage on July 2, 1971, in Cushing and were blessed with two sons.

Working with his father, Harry Moore, Brad was involved in the oil and uranium industry throughout his life.

Brad loved singing, playing his guitar, and making recordings in the music industry. Due to his musical talent, Brad assisted the Choir Director with his guitar and vocals at the St. John the Evangelist University Parish in Stillwater for several years. He also loved hunting, fishing, boating, and being with his family.

The family wishes to convey their deep appreciation to MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX., The Villages at Southern Hills in Tulsa, OK., and Good Shepherd Hospice. A heartfelt thank you to Mike Vesel, Brad’s Hospice nurse for his excellent care and compassion.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Mary Theresa Moore.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deanie of 41 years, Son Matthew Anthony Moore of Houston, TX., son Scott Bradford Moore of Minneapolis, MN. And granddaughter Brooke O’Kelley.

Survivors also include two sisters, Michelle Moore Hughes and husband Jack, Virginia Kay Moore all of Edmond, OK, brother Jon Patrick Moore of Oklahoma City, mother-in-law Velma Dean Tuttle Long. Sister-in-law Diana Sue Young and husband Bill, nephew Brett Young all of Cushing, nephew Mark Hughes of Oklahoma City, and niece Deidra O’Keefe and husband Dan and children Darrian, Dolan, and Dylan all of Tulsa, OK.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist University Parish, Stillwater, OK.

Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Virginia Kay "Ginny Kay" Moore
November 18, 1960 ~ May 27, 2016


Virginia Kay Moore, affectionately known as Ginny Kay, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 at her home in Edmond. She was born November 18, 1960 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Harry Anthony and Catherine Scallon Moore. Ginny Kay grew up in Cushing, later moving to Oklahoma City, then to Edmond.

She was a blessing and inspiration to everyone who knew her. Despite life-long health challenges. She was the personification of courage and fortitude. Giving up was never an option. Adversity made her fight with determination and a smile on her face. Her family felt honored to have been chosen to care for this angel on earth.

Ginny Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Brad Moore and infant sister, Mary Teresa Moore.

She is survived by sister, Michele Hughes and husband Jack of Edmond; brother, Pat Moore of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Deanie Moore of Tulsa; nephews, Mark Hughes of Edmond; Matt Moore of Houston, Texas, Scott Moore of Las Colinas, Texas and her beloved dog, Lucy.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ginny Kay's loyal caregiver, Jackie Davis; the Excell Home Health Team and Humanity Hospice for their care and compassion and also, Paula Avery.
