McCaslin, Metalsmith 2nd Class, will arrive in Cushing, with military escort, at 12:32 Friday morning. He was killed in action on March 4, 1944 in the Admiralty Islands. He was born May 11, 1914 near Luther, Oklahoma and was reared in this community. He attended public schools of Wellston, Oklahoma. He was married on October 3, 1942 to Miss Jennie Pederson in Los Angeles, California. He entered active service on October 5, 1942, in Los Angeles, and left for foreign service on December 25, 1942, serving in the Pacific area. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McCaslin of Cushing, 5 brothers, 5 sisters and other relatives. Graveside rites will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. Randall Ball, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, in charge. Burial, under direction of the Davis Funeral Home, will be made in the Fairlawn cemetery on the family lot. |
