Donalvin Lee Mayo, beloved son and brother, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2008 in Fort Supply, Oklahoma.

The son of Donalda Jane Baldwin Mayo and the late Seaman Alvin Mayo, Donalvin was born on January 7, 1954 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

He attended schools in Louisiana and graduated from Tioga High School in Tioga, Louisiana in 1972. He was selected to Who’s Who in American High Schools along with being a member of the Beta Club.

He attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, receiving his Associate Degree in Printing Technology in 1975.

Donalvin was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cushing. He was always involved in Church services and activities. He was a Bible student and was diligent in his efforts to win people to Christ.

He was musically talented; his major instrument was the French Horn, also playing the trumpet, piano and bass guitar.

Survivors include his mother, Donalda Mayo of Cushing; one brother Delwyn Mayo of Bethany, OK; one sister, Cindy Mayo Freeman and her husband David of Marrero, LA; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Seaman Alvin Mayo.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ted Uhlig and Pastor Harold Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery.
