© Davis Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma Printed With Permission May 1956 May 20, 1878 ~ May 1, 1956 John Pearl Johnson died at his home at 1309 E. Walnut at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, following a long illness. Services will be at 2: p.m. Thursday in the First Christian church. The Rev. Carroll Fairbanks, pastor, will conduct the service. Burial under direction of the Davis Funeral Home, will be in the Fairlawn cemetery. Johnson was born in Morgan county, Mo., May 20, 1878 and moved with his parents the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Johnson to Winigan. Mo. At the age of five years. He was married December 23, 1901 to Edna Harmon at Winigan and the couple came to Cushing in 1927 and he has lived here since that time. He was employed with the Santa Fe Railroad co. until he retired in 1943. He was a member of the First Christian church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Edna Johnson of the home; three sons, Leonard Johnson of Cushing, Jack Johnson of Modesto, Calif., and Jerry Johnson of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Ralph Johnson of Elmer, Mo.; one sister, Mrs Nellie Wallace of Wingan, Mo., four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many other relatives. In addition to his parents we was preceded in death by one child in infancy. |
Cushing, Oklahoma September 1969 January 17, 1887 ~ September 8, 1969 Funeral services for Elmer B. Johnson, 82 year old long time Cushing resident who died in the Cushing Municipal Hospital, were held the Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. J.A. Franklin, minister, officiating. Casket bearers were be Lynn Failing, Glen Cardin, Alvey Harmon, Elmer Bell and Bill O'Kelley. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Fairley Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born January 17, 1887 in Kansas and came to Cushing from Independece in 1929. He was employed by Kerr McGee Corp. in the Cushing refinery for 25 years before his retirement. He was married to Edith Gallup in Independence, Kan., on June 26, 1915, and she preceded him in death on May 13, 1953. He was later married to Alice Steele on April 1, 1955, in Stillwater, and the couple made their home in Cushing until the time of Mr. Johnson's death. Surviving relatives include the wife of the home, one son Alfred Johnson of Wichita Falls, Tex., two step-sons, Robert Steele and Kenneth Steele, both of Oklahoma City; five dughters, Mrs. Dorothy Jenkins of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Francis Lewallen of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. Josephine Porter of Owassoo, Mrs. Faye Goodwin of Cushing, and Mrs. Agnes McCaslin of Enid; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by six brothers, in addition to his parents. |

Born Feb 5, 1903, at Cambridge Ohio, she was married to Everett Newport, June 6 1923, at Cushing Okla. He died July 22, 1944. She was married to Claude Johnson, Aug 3, 1947 at Chase Kansas. She had lived there most of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, McPherson: OES. Survivors include the widower: sons Kenneth, Tulsa Okla; James, Annandale, VA, daughter, Mrs Marjorie Spurgeon, Enid Okla; brother Albert Culbertson, Cushing, Okla; sister Mrs Alma Davenport, Cushing, Okla; four grandchildren. Funeral will be 11am Wednesday at the church; rev Raymond WO Knowles; and at 10:30am Thursday at the Davis funeral Home, Cushing Okla: Rev Lester Lunday. Burial will be in Fairlaw Cemetery Cushing. |
Cushing, Oklahoma November 2020 January 24, 1939 ~ November 9, 2020 Dorothy was born in Kendrick, Oklahoma, January 24, 1939, to Malcolm Nicholson and Goldie Mae [Bostwick] Nicholson. She had one brother, Jerry Ray Nicholson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She later married Doyle Henning, deceased, but not before they had three boys,Jimmy Henning, Deceased 1-11-2007, Michael Henning of Muskogee, OK and Russell Henning of Enid, Oklahoma. Later in the following years, she married John A Pratt, of Enid, Oklahoma, deceased. She has 4 stepchildren, Vickie Pratt Korrect, Kim Pratt Towns, John A Pratt Jr. and Alan C. Pratt, all from Oklahoma City. She has 7 grandchildren, Samantha Henning, Enid, OK, Brandon Henning, Enid, OK. Will Sage-Korrect, Tampa, FL, Damon Korrect, Victoria Korrect, Oklahoma City, Krystal Turner, and Becky McCallie, Mustang, OK, Jacob Towns, Bethany, OK. And 4 great grandchildren, Ashton, Tucker, Brody and Addison McCallie of Mustang, Oklahoma. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved all her children, blood or through marriage. Dorothy was a kind soul, her only regret was that she did not tell her boys how proud she was of them and how much she loved them. She felt that they could never really say what they wanted. It was always hard for her to say what she meant and was afraid that it would make them angry. She could not bring herself to say what she felt in her heart. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Tuesday November 17, 2020 at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore, OK under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Viewing will be Monday at the Event Center from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing at 2:00 pm Tuesday. |
