Oklahoma November 2005 April 20, 1925 ~ November 24, 2005 He was born April 20, 1925, the 8th child of 9 children to Denison and Ida Mae [Wilson] Jackson in Oilton, OK. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and five sisters. He was a member of the class of 1943, in Cushing, OK and served in the Navy in World War II. He married Virginia Ruth Buxton March 26, 1945, in Van Couver, Washington. He spent his life working in the oil and gas industry, starting as a roughneck. In 1998, he retired as CEO of Ward Drilling Co. Nothing could keep him from his love of the industry as he continued consulting until he passed. He loved his church. He served as deacon and elder of The Christian Church of the Covenant, and he was on the church board. He is most proud of his family. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Edmond, OK; his daughter, Claudette Bertrand of Edmond, OK; his son, Michael Jackson and his wife Janie of Hennessey, OK; his grandchildren, Brant and Erica Bertrand, Stacey Bertrand and her fiance Barry Maloney, Jeremy and Jennifer Jackson, Amber and Curtis Hames, Megan Jackson; and his sister Dixie Bair and her husband Homer. He was blessed with many opportunities. His hope is that all who knew him will rejoice at his passing. |
