Virginia M. Griffith, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the Drumright Hospital at the age of 91 years.
The daughter of the late Herbert Marckwardt and Elsie (Wenzel) Marckwardt, Virginia was born on July 8, 1918 in New Braunfels, Texas and was reared and educated in that area.
She was united in marriage to Creed H. Griffith on July 10, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Virginia enjoyed sewing, gardening and antiquing. She especially loved cats.
Survivors include her two sons, Clemens Uhlig and his wife Danyce of Dallas, TX and David Griffith of Stillwater; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son James Albert Griffith; one daughter Janice Griffith; one grandson Mike Griffith and one grand-daughter Sara Elizabeth White.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Ted Uhlig, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
