© Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County April 18, 2013 August 15, 1918 ~ April 18, 2013 Lucille Cargill, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 94. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday April 20, 2013 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Murray officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Ok. The daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Ellen [White] Langley was born on August 15, 1918 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended grade school in Glenpool, then Drumright High School graduating in 1936. Later she attended Tulsa Business College and some classes at O.S.U. Lucille married Gene Faires on September 17, 1939 and they made their first home after marriage S.E. of Cushing on the Faires farm and raised their sons on the farm. Lucille worked for Farmers National [Bank of Cushing] for fifteen years. She was preceded in death by her first husband Gene Faires in 1958. Lucille married C.W. "Pete" Cargill on March 15, 1968 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church. They owned a motel in Stroud for several years. They were Charter members of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing, making clothes and going to the Senior Citizens and exercising. Lucille is survived by son Gary G. Faires, Sr. of Cushing, step-sons David Cargill of Cushing, Bob Cargill and wife Sara Lou of Ft. Worth, Tx., step-daughter Helen Linduff and husband Leroy of Drumright, grandson that she raised Jason Faires and wife Tonya of Norman, and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husbands Gene Faires and C.W. "Pete" Cargill, her parents, her sons Don Faires and Tom Faires, three brothers Homer, Kenneth and Aaron Langley, half sister Wanda Farnsworth. |
