Henry Edwin "Harry" Exton
May 24, 1860 ~ January 28, 1930


Former Shaffer Boiler Fireman Is Victim of Illness Lasting Three Years

Harry Exton, age 69 years died at four o'clock yesterday at his residence two miles north and one and one-half miles east of Cushing. He had been ill for the past three years.

Funeral services were to be held at two-thirty o'clock this afternoon at the H. A. Davis Funeral Vhapel with Rev W. E. Robinson on charge of the service.

Men from the Shaffer Refinery where the deceased was formerly employed will act as pallbearers.

Burial will be made in Fsirlan cemetery.

Until Mr Exton's illness which began three years ago, Mr Exton was boiler fireman at the Shaffer Refinery.

Beside a wife, heis survived by five children, Kenneth, age 15 years, Joe age 14 yearsm Violet and Mildred, age 11 years Rose Mary, age 7 years and Billy, age 4 years.

Joseph John "Joe" Exton
September 19, 1915 ~ April 30, 2007


Joe Exton, retired farmer, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 91 years.

The son of the late Harry Exton and Mary Fones Exton, Joe was born on September 19, 1915 in Chicago, IL coming to Oklahoma with his parents and family as a small child, living here since.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Walker on September 19, 1961 and she preceded him in death on June 24, 1997.

Joe had delivered the Cushing Citizen for many years in addition to working at Deep Rock and later Kerr McGee Refinery.

He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church; a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II; he enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his two daughters, Jenny Bogle and her husband Jeff of Reeds, MO and Susan Exton of Cushing; 10 grandchildren, Josh Lemmons, Jake Lemmons, Amanda Lemmons, Randi Lemmons, Katie Lemmons, Rachael Lemmons, Jace Lemmons, Jarrett Exton, Samantha Bogle and Taylor Bogle; four great-grandchildren, Hayden Lemmons, Heath Lemmons, Kendyll Lemmons and Addison Lemmons; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Joe will be remembered by his family as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Dakota Lemmons.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 10 A.M. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Lonny Lee, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening, from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.

Wilbert Henry "Bill" Exton
May 8, 1925 ~ December 16, 2020


Wilbert “Bill” Exton, lifelong Cushing resident, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years.

The son of the late Harry Exton and Mary Fones Exton, Bill was born on May 8, 1925 in Cushing, Oklahoma and was raised and educated here.

He was a hard worker and over the years had worked in the roofing business; worked at Kerr McGee Refinery and was retried from the Cushing School system where he worked in maintenance. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising cattle, gardening and especially spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. His grandkids remember him as probably the best fisherman in this area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three children, Carl and Charles Exton and Cheryl Taber; three brothers, Joe Exton, Kenneth Exton and John Exton and two sisters, Violet Exton and Rosi Matlock.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Carl Henry Exton
December 15 1950 ~ April 18, 2009


Carl Henry Exton, longtime Cushing resident and businessman, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Tulsa at the age of 58 years.

Son of Wilbert Henry Exton and Mildred Louise Holland Exton, Carl was born on December 15, 1950 in Cushing where he was raised and educated.

Carl was united in marriage to Cathy Stultz on December 18, 1971 in California and upon marriage the couple moved to Cushing. To this union four children, Alan, Justin, Sara and David were born.

Carl enjoyed fishing, farming and playing with his grandchildren.

He also had a strong passion for his work, he had owned his roofing company for over 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of over 37 years, Cathy, of the home; his parents, Bill Exton of Cushing and Louise Mustain and her husband Bobby of Cushing; three sons, Alan Gene Exton and his wife Leslie of Cushing, Justin Lee Exton and Sherry Gillman of Cushing and David Eric Exton and Tricia Day of Cushing; one daughter, Sara Renee Exton and Shane Wittman of Stillwater; seven grandchildren, Alison Exton, Nicole Exton, Derek Exton, Payton Exton, Kayden Wittman, Brooklynn Wittman and Paisley Wittman; one sister, Cheryl Taber of Cushing; one brother, Chuck Exton of Cushing; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Faith Baptist Church with Pastor C. L. Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
