© Davis Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma Printed With Permission June 2007 July 10, 1938 ~ December 6, 2000 Luther James Cross, a former Cushing resident, now of Kansas City, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000 in the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City at the age of 62 years. Luther was born on July 10, 1938, in Okemah, OK. He entered the United States Air Force in 1956 and served as an Airman 1st Class until his discharge in 1960. Luther moved to Kansas City in 1964 where he worked as an electrician for General Motors for nine years. He had been a member of the UAW Local #31 in Kansas City, and a member of the Seminole Indian Nation. Luther is survived by one son, Emerick Cross of Kansas City, KS; one daughter, Shana Rainey of Kansas City, KS; three brothers, Orvin Cross of Parkville, MO, John Cross of Stillwater, OK, and Carl Cross of Pensacola, FL; three sisters, Marquita Cross of Choctaw, OK, Nakina Haug of Havre De Grace, MD, and LaRae Clampet of Idabell, OK. Luther was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Cross. Funeral services were held in the Memorial Chapel at Davis Funeral Home on December 11, 2000 with Ralph Hickman officiating. Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, OK. |
