Marjorie "Marge" [Tucker] Coyne
October 15, 1908 ~ June 3, 2007


Marjorie M. Coyne, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 98 years.

The daughter of the late James Milton Tucker, and Mary Belle Berry Tucker, Marjorie was born on October 15, 1908 in Oklahoma City, OK.

She moved to Cushing with her family in 1914.

She was united in marriage to Emmett R. “Mick” Coyne on Oct. 15, 1929 in Chandler and to this union two children, Suzanne and David were born. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1977.

Marjorie was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed serving in the church and her church family was very special to her.

She was an honorary member of the Cushing Regional Hospital Auxiliary having volunteered for over 25 years, retiring when she was 85.

In 1998 she had her famous crumb cake recipe published in the Congressional cook book.

She was also known for her generosity and the love she had for all those around her, blessing people with angel pins. Most recently she participated in the filming of the Centennial series interviews about early Cushing.

Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne Coyne of Stillwater; one son David Coyne and his wife Marilyn of Conroe, TX; two grandchildren, Caren Powell and her husband Kevin and Creig Coyne and his wife Kristin; five great-grandchildren, K.C. Powell, Payton Powell, Forrest Powell, Austin Coyne and Creighton Coyne; two sisters, Charlyne Speaker and Geraldine Means; one brother, Robert H. Tucker and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Tom Stewart, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
