Deaun Allie [Wright] Bowling
January 17, 1917 ~ January 2, 2006


Deaun Allie Wright Bowling, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Monday, January 02, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years.

The daughter of the late Jesse D. Wright and Pheoba Shumate Wright, Deaun was born on January 17, 1917 in Lincoln County and attended school in Shamrock.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Bowling on November 24, 1934. They made their home around the Cushing area. They were members of the Park Place Baptist Church in Cushing. She was a homemaker; enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling with her husband.

She moved to the Cimarron Towers when her husband Virgil died on January 13, 1987. She moved to Cyril in 1999 and lived with her brother Clarence Wright and niece, moving back to Cushing to Linwood Retirement Apartments in March of 2004.

Deaun is survived by three nieces Carlene Gibson of Elgin, OK, Allyene Luna of Cyril, OK and Shelia Bergey of Alaska; two nephews Keith Wright and his wife Linda of Edmond and Cecil Wright of Cushing, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Deaun was preceded in death by three brothers Cleo, Clarence and Alfred Wright; one sister Nellie Wright; two nephews Butch and James Wright and two nieces Barbara Lamb and Karen Reiley.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Reverend Robert Adams, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
