© Palmer Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County Printed With Permission July 2012 July 4, 1920 ~ July 29, 2012 Harold Richard "Dick" Baker was born July 4, 1920 to Andrew Clint and Ida [Harmon] Baker in Brookfield, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the age of 92 years, and 25 days. Dick attended Cushing public schools. On December 24, 1940 Harold Richard Baker and Agnes Lorene Robison were united in marriage in Chandler, Oklahoma. To this union was born two sons, Johnny and Harvey. Dick entered into the United States Army August 31, 1943. He fought during WWII and earned a good conduct medal as well as the prestigious Purple Heart medal. He then returned home and began a long career working for Kerr-McGee retiring in 1984. He loved to garden as well as watching the Lawrence Welk Show. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Agnes Baker of the Cushing home. One son, Harvey Baker and wife, Marsha of Sand Springs. Two grandchildren, Carmen Matherly and Necho Baker, and two great grandsons, Tanner and Cameron Matherly. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Johnny Richard Baker, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 1:00pm – 8:00 pm at Palmer-Marler Funeral Home in Cushing. Graveside services are 10:00AM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Fairlawn Cemetery North of Cushing with a memorial service to follow at 11:00AM at the Cushing Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Greer officiating. |
© Palmer Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County Printed With Permission November 2010 March 30, 1944 ~ November 17, 2010 Johnny Richard Baker was born March 30, 1944 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Harold & Agnes Baker. He departed this life November 17, 2010 at age of 66 years old. He attended Cushing Public Schools graduating in 1962. He then attended Oklahoma State University for 1 year. Johnny had been a resident of Coyle over 28 years before moving to Westport in 2007. While living in Coyle Johnny had many convenient stores that stretched beyond Coyle to Ada, Seminole, Perkins, and Edmond. He also started a real estate venture, building and selling homes between Stillwater and Coyle. He never did anything half way, the words "quit" or "give up" were not in his vocabulary. He faithfully attended the Church of God in Yale, Oklahoma. His hobbies consisted of playing poker, fishing, watching his grandsons sporting events, reading, roping, and attending the Cushing community theatre productions. He was deeply devoted to his family and loved them dearly. He is survived by his parents, Harold "Dick" & Agnes Baker of Cushing, Oklahoma. One daughter, Carmen Matherly & husband Brent of Bristow, Oklahoma. One brother, Harvey Baker & wife Marsha of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Two grandsons, Tanner and Cameron Matherly of Bristow. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Saturday, February 12th at Fairlawn Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Cushing First Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Greer officiating. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Synopsis: On November 19, 2010, 66-year-old Johnny Baker was reported missing by his daughter at which time she found his abandoned vehicle west bound on I-244 and Memorial. On January 26, 2011, the body of Mr. Baker was found in a wooded area of Old Hwy. 51 at 22700 W. 21st St in Sand Springs. He was last seen checking on his rental properties and collecting rental payments. |
© Davis Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma Printed With Permission May 2006 November 11, 1972 ~ May 19, 2006 Sean Paul Baker passed away at his residence in Drumright on Friday evening, May 19, 2006 at the age of 33 years. The son of Daniel J. Baker and Ruth Ann Spoon Baker, Sean was born on November 11, 1972 in Cushing, OK, and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in the class of 1992. He was united in marriage to April Blasingame on June 10, 1995 in Kellyville, OK and to this union three sons, Nakota, James and Shane were born. Sean was working for National Standard in Stillwater at the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and anything to do with electronics. Survivors include his wife April Baker of the home; three sons, Nakota, James and Shane Baker all of the home; his parents Daniel and Ruth Baker of Cushing; two brothers Robert Baker and his wife Angie of Sand Springs and Christopher Baker and his wife Darla of Stillwater; one uncle Carl Baker and his wife Barbara of Cushing; three nieces, Baely, Breighdun and Madlyn; one nephew Jacob; cousins, Eddie Baker, Karla Baker, Barbara Marie, Billy Joe and other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 2 P.M. in the Fairlawn Cemetery. |
