© Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County September 2020 Charles Scott Woodson August 23, 1929 ~ September 21, 2020 Charles Scott Woodson, 91, died September 23, 2020, due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Charles was born August 23, 1929, in Ft. Smith, AR, to Earl and Faye Woodson. He spent all but one year of his childhood and teen years in Poteau. His high school included Oklahoma Military Academy and Poteau High School. Charles earned a business degree at the University of Oklahoma then attended the University of Tulsa College of Law. Charles married Betty F. Fowler on August 8, 1953, in St. Paul's Methodist Church, Shawnee. They resided in Tulsa until 1960, at which time they moved to Drumright. After a short time in private practice, Charles was appointed District Judge by then-Gov. David Hall. He remained on the bench for 29 years before retiring in 1999. He was active in the First United Methodist Church of Drumright, Rotary Club, Elks Lodge, and loved to play golf and bridge. Charles lived in Tulsa at the time of his death. Charles is survived by his 3 children: Charlotte Keho, Broken Arrow; Scott Woodson, Tulsa; and Gary Woodson and his wife, Julia, Collinsville; and his grandchildren, Andrew Woodson and his wife, Kendra, Peter Woodson and his wife, Besi, Matt Woodson, Sammi Woodson, Aaron Woodson and his wife, Bailey, and Patty Keho; and 1 great-grandchild, Aubree. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty, parents, Earl and Faye Woodson, and brothers, Dan Woodson and Joe Woodson. A Celebration of Life/graveside service will be at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing, OK [6 mi. west of Drumright] on September 26, 2020, at 10:30 a.m.. © Palmer Marler Funeral Home Cushing, OK - Payne and Lincoln County August 2006 Betty Frances [Fowler] Woodson March 14, 1929 ~ August 24, 2006 Betty Frances [Fowler] Woodson died August 24, 2006, after a long struggle with multiple myeloma. She also suffered from macular degeneration and hearing loss. Betty was born on March 14, 1929 in Oklahoma City to Marvin and Sallie Fowler. Betty graduated from Shawnee High School in 1947, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and lettered in tennis. After high school, she attended Oklahoma A & M. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and served as rush chairman. Thereafter, she worked for a CPA in Shawnee before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was a secretary and worked in a law firm. Betty married Charles S. Woodson on August 8, 1953 in St. Paul's Methodist Church, Shawnee, OK. They resided in Tulsa until 1960, at which time they moved to Drumright. She was active in the Methodist church, Elks Auxiliary, bridge club, library board, numerous school activities, and loved to play golf. Due to her failing health, she and Charles moved to Sand Springs in 2005. Betty is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles, Sand Springs, OK; her three children, Charlotte Keho and her husband, Danny, Sand Springs, OK; Scott Woodson and his wife, Dana, Mannford, OK; and Gary Woodson and his wife, Julia, Sand Springs, OK; her grandchildren, Andrew Woodson and his wife Kendra, Peter Woodson, Matt Woodson, Sammi Woodson, Aaron Woodson and Patty Keho; and her two brothers, Joe Wiley Fowler, Stillwater, OK and Jay Marvin Fowler, Dallas, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sallie and Marvin Fowler. Interment will be at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing, OK [6 mi. west of Drumright] on August 28, 2006, at 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will follow at First United Methodist Church, Drumright, OK., at 2.p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Dean McGee Eye Institute Foundation, 608 Stanton L.
