Jimmy E. Killough, retired local businessman, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years.
The son of the late Samuel Everett Killough and Anna Alta Mitchell Killough, Jimmy was born on March 14, 1923 in Claremore, OK and was reared and educated in Cushing graduating from Cushing High School in the class of 1941.
In February of 1943, Jimmy entered the United States Army, serving in the South Pacific, as a heavy equipment operator.
Following his discharge in November of 1945 he returned to Cushing and was married to Beulah Greenwood on January 22, 1947 and to this union two sons, Jimmy Don and Jack were born.
Jimmy worked for Hughes Lumber Company for over 17 years prior to being self-employed in the dozer, backhoe and dump truck business.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church; he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving include his wife of over 59 years, Beulah Killough of the home; two sons, Jimmy Don Killough and Jack Killough both of Texas; one brother Don Killough of Meeker, OK; three grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 2 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Lonny Lee, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
