Sharon Kay (Gravitt) Hogue, passed from this life to meet her Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 80 years. The daughter of Roscoe Elzie and Virginia June (Snelson) Gravitt, Cook. To this union, three children were born - Elzie Dean, Sharon Kay and Richard Franklin Gravitt. As a young girl, Sharon was raised and received her education in Tulsa from Rogers High School. In 1959, she met and married Ronald Paul Rutherford on June 24, 1960, at Coweta, OK. To this union was the birth of a daughter - Terri Lynne Rutherford. Years later, Sharon was united in marriage to Buford Donald Hogue on December 14, 1981, at Miami, OK. Don was a truck driver for John Zink, and together they traveled cross country for several years. They saw a lot of beautiful country before retiring from the road. They made their home in Cleveland in 1983, where Sharon decided to put in a Resale Shop while Don put in a small engine repair shop. They made a lot of new friends and led many to the Lord.
Sharon was an active member of Oak Hill Church and worked as secretary for many years. This was her greatest love, working for the Lord. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting and garage sales.
Survivors include her husband, Don; daughter Terri Lynne Mitchell; a brother Tommy Dean Cook; granddaughters - Cheyenne Heatley, Cherylynn Latham, Stephanie Rusco; and grandsons TJ and Brandon Hogue and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her father Roscoe Gravitt and mother & stepfather Virginia and Tom Cook; three sons - Tommy Buford, Billy Ray and Roy Wayne Hogue; two brothers - Elzie Dean and Richard Franklin Gravitt and grandparents - Roscoe and Celia Gravitt and Richard and Clema Snelson.
Funeral services for Sharon will be Friday, July 26, 2024, in the sanctuary of the Cleveland First Assembly of God Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dan Edens officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, OK. Public viewing will be Thursday, July 25th at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home from 10 to 7pm.
