Shirley Ruth Hall, was born December 25, 1930 in Westville, Oklahoma the daughter of Lowen Buster and Kate (Russell) Morris. Shirley was raised and received her education in Westville where she later graduated in 1949.
While attending high school as a sophomore, Shirley began working as an operator for Southwestern Bell. Shirley later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma gaining employment with the telephone company. During this time she was introduced to Robert B. Hall on a blind date. They were later united in marriage in Tulsa on June 9, 1956.
After their marriage in 1956, the couple made their initial home in Cleveland where Shirley accepted employment working for Mae Farmer as a telephone operator for A T & T, which later became Southwestern Bell. They then moved to Seminole from 1959 till 1962. Shirley and Bob then moved to Sapulpa before moving to Wynnewood in 1967 when Bob was promoted District Superintendent for Kerr McGee.
While residing in Wynnewood, Shirley obtained her LPN Certificate in Shawnee. She was then employed as a nurse at Pauls Valley General Hospital and then later at the Pauls Valley State Hospital for Children.
In 1976, Shirley and Bob moved to Cushing, Oklahoma. At that time Shirley began working for the Cushing Regional Hospital. After retiring several times Shirley still continued to work for the hospital until her final retirement in 1997, where she was in charge of the Outpatient Clinic.
Mrs. Hall passed away Tuesday evening, September 11, 2007 at her home in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years 8 months and 16 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob on November 28, 2004 and one sister Patricia Gentry.
Survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Amon and husband Don of Cushing, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Zack and Zane Amon of Cushing, Oklahoma, one sister; Willie Louise Gower of Alamogordo, New Mexico and a host of other relatives and friends that mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 15, 2007 in the Woodland Cemetery Chapel in Cleveland, Oklahoma unde the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
