Opal Louise Gann, a longtime Perkins resident, passed away on Monday August 10, 2020 at the Westhaven Nursing Home, Perkins, Ok. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Perkins, Ok. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Perkins, Oklahoma.

Opal was born on August 31, 1932 in Hominy, Oklahoma to the late Nick and Della Mae (Mikel) Nichols. Opal was the 7th child of a total of 11 siblings. She was proud of the fact that her father was full blood Greek. She grew and attended school in Hominy. Opal married Carol Thomas Smith on December 8, 1948 in Hominy, Oklahoma and her twin sister Ruby married on the same day. To this union, Sherry, Don, Tommy and Randy were born. Opal enjoyed dancing, listening to music, playing cards, and cooking. She loved being with her children and grandchildren. Opal went to the Adult Day Center in Stillwater for 3 years where she enjoyed arts and crafts. Then moved to Redbud in Perkins and played Bingo, arts and crafts, music and participated in all the activities.
Opal is survived by her daughter Sherry Maroutsos and Billy Phillips of Perkins, Don Smith of Stigler, Tommy Smith of Perkins, step-daughter Linda Gann of Perkins, sisters Alice Neighbors of Spiro, twin-sister Ruby Mangold of Perkins, Ruth Ann Matthew of Columbia, Mo., seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Carol Thomas Smith and Cecil Gann, son Randy Smith, brothers George Nichols, Gus Nichols, James Nichols, John Nichols, sisters Deana Taylor, Mary Cecil and Ethel Vines.
