Linda Sue Shelton passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 80, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Linda was born on May 17, 1944, in Salinas, California, the daughter of Roy Jason "Cotton" and Edith Edna (Underwood) Davidson. At a young age, Linda finished school so that she could take care of her other siblings. At the age of 16, Linda met Melvin in Bristow, Oklahoma. They were soon united in marriage and made their initial home in Drumright, Oklahoma, before returning to Bristow. In February of 1982, Linda and Melvin moved to Cleveland where she continued to reside.Linda is a member of the First Baptist Church and was head of the Host Committee for several years. She loved to bake pies and cakes, but she loved cooking for her family and friends most of all.
Survivors are her grandchildren Russell Elledge of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Lucas Elledge of Covington, Oklahoma; Jesse Elledge of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Michael Shelton, Amber Shelton, Keisha Shelton; numerous great grandchildren; siblings Ronni Davidson of Bristow, Oklahoma, Frankie Davidson of Bristow, Oklahoma, Carla Perison of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Emileen Parrick of Bristow as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, two sons, Mike and Marvin Shelton, daughter Tammy Walls, sister Ollie Rake, and a brother Donald Underwood.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, with David Logsdon officiating. Burial will be held in the Terlton Cemetery at Terlton, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.
