Alan Owen Edgar passed from this life on December 9, 2020 at the age of 87 in Cleveland, OK.
Alan was born on October 2, 1933, at Sulphur, Oklahoma. He was the son of Farris and Maude (Hudson) Edgar. Alan grew up and attended school in Terlton. After completion of his education Alan moved to Tulsa and began working at a veterinary clinic. He later accepted a job at a local filling station and was united in marriage on May 29, 1954,, to Annabelle "Dolly" Ledbetter in Claremore, Oklahoma. The couple established their initial home in Tulsa later returning to the Cleveland Area in 1967. Alan began working with his brother-in-law Orville Ledbetter learning the trade as a brick layer. He took great pride in his work as a brick layer. Alan continued working as a brick mason for over 50 years on numerous projects through out the Cleveland and surrounding areas.
Alan loved working and raising a garden.
Survivors include his wife Dolly of the home, three children Anna Lynn Brown of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Wayne Edgar of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Sam Edgar and his wife Susan of Cleveland, Oklahoma; brother Frank Edgar and his wife Carole of Terlton, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Laverne Lucas, Levetta Teagarden, Lidafern Hill, Richard Edgar, Hollis Edgar.
No services are planned. Burial will be held at the Terlton Cemetery in Terlton, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Alan at www.chapman-black.com.
