Walter Leonard Sissom was born on June 1, 1939 and passed from this life on February 23,2021. He was 81 years of age. Walter was a worker for the City of Sand Springs in Oklahoma for many years. He worked in construction work, and operated heavy equipment. He loved to help build hot rods and even put together hot rod model cars. He also learned how to crochet. He made bedspreads, throws and other things and that made him happy. Walter loved going to the steam engine shows, and loved to help build floats and drive the floats in parades. He also was proud to drive the church van for the Westside Baptist Church at Keystone. He loved taking the youth to the church camp at Fallscreek. Walter loved the Lord and loved working for the Lord. He enjoyed being around his grandkids and spoiling them. He used to love going on vacations to Branson, going to the mountains and just traveling around taking in all the sights.
Walter was proceeded in death by his parents Armond Lunsford and Mable Mildred Sissom, his 3 brothers, Herbert Sissom., Earnest Dale Sissom, and Phillip Wayne Sissom, and a son Floyd Wayne Sissom Walter is survived by his sister Vida Mary Loudolph and husband Henry of Terlton,Oklahoma, a daughter Anita Blatchford and husband Eugene of Wagoner, Ok., son Michael Sissom, son Billy Sissom and wife Sharon, son Bobby Sissom and wife Rebecka all of Hulbert, Oklahoma. He has a big hosf of grandkids and family members to numerous to mention Walter loved all of his family and we will all miss him.
Services will be Friday, February 26, 2021 – 10:30 at Westport Baptist Church, Cleveland, Oklahoma with his interment at Sinnett Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-black Funeral Home. You may share a memory at www.chapman-black.com.
