Florence Mary Goodfox

lorence Mary Goodfox (Sta-lawa-lectsste) also known as Honey, passed away with her family by her side on October 2, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 84. Florence was born at the Pawnee Indian Hospital on August 19, 1936 to Lawrence and Flora Lewis Goodfox. She along with her siblings were raised on the Goodfox homestead in Lela, Oklahoma.

Graduating from Pawnee High School in 1954, Florence joined the Army – WAC. After her basic training in Anniston, Alabama she was transferred to Ft. Benning, Georgia where she worked in the Personnel Record Department

While in Ft. Benning she met Donald Goforth, they married in Pawnee and lived in Ohio where they raised their two daughters, Diane and Denise. In 1981, after living 27 years in Ohio they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, then to Pawnee where they later divorced. Florence worked as a food service cook for the Stillwater School system for 25 years and retired at the age of 71.

Florence is survived by her daughters, Diane Wichita and husband, Byron and Denise Anderson, both of Pawnee, six grandchildren, Derek Wichita of Wyoming, Lynette Tsotigh and husband, Chad and Andrea Wichita of Pawnee, Deanne Grant and husband, Joe of Durango, Colorado, Eric Anderson of Oklahoma City and Chloe Anderson of Norman, Oklahoma, seven great-grandchildren, Ryan Macom and Blake Wichita of Grove, Oklahoma, Brynlee and Elonni Tsotigh and Adrian Anderson of Pawnee, Rashad Reece and Mikylah Reed of Norman, Oklahoma, sister, Wanda Kanuho and husband, Jimmy of Pawnee and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Rena Rice, Lawrence Goodfox, Jr., Elvina Wilson, Betty Garcia, Walter Goodfox and Henrietta Pratt and several nieces and nephews.
