Robertajean Salmon Ahdunko was born on April 14, 1962 to James and Rowena (Morris) Salmon at Camp Pendleton, CA. She passed away from this life on December 20, 2022 in Cushing, OK. Roberta is a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. She is a member of the Pitahawirata and Skidi Bands.
She attended school in Oceanside, CA and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1980. She continued her education and attended Cameron University where she received an Associate Degree in Business. She also attended beauty school and was a licensed beautician for several years.
Roberta met and married Farrell Ahdunko on October 16, 1999. They were married until he passed away on February 12, 2008.
She worked in many capacities for Pawnee Nation including Law Enforcement Administrative Assistant/Dispatcher and Human Resources Coordinator. She loved helping people and supporting the tribal employees in the HR Department.
Growing up in a strong military family, she learned about the importance of selfless commitment and dedication. Roberta was asked to be Head Cook for the Pawnee Indian Veterans for several terms. She also did the booklet for the annual homecoming powwow for many years. Roberta was instrumental in establishing the Veterans Wall for the tribal employee veterans.
Roberta had a caring heart for people. She had a way of making people feel special with her motherly ways. She loved with her whole heart and would do anything that she could to help those in need.
Roberta is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Frietze-Nichols and husband Marty Nichols-Pawnee, OK; sister, Georgiana Sweetwater & family-Tahlequah, OK; sister, Kathaleen Daniels & family-Tulsa, OK, and brother, Bob Horn & family-Pawnee, OK. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and her beloved fur babies.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents-James and Rowena Salmon, sister-Friedamarie Frietze, and husband-Farrell Ahdunko.This site may be freely linked, but not duplicated in any way without consent.
