Waltina R. Day, "Walt" age 92 went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on January 7, 2020. Waltina was born on March 8, 1927 in Clarksville, AR to Jim and Josie (Sparks) Minney. Waltina married the man of her dreams Cecil W. Day, Jr. "June" in Perry, Oklahoma on February 5, 1943. They enjoyed 56 beautiful years together. Waltina and Cecil owned and operated Day Trucking for many years. Waltina worked hard all of her life with no regrets and no complaints. Waltina loved working outside, she had a green thumb and could grow anything. Family was very important to her. Her face would light up the room when she was holding a baby.
Waltina is survived by her children; Peggy House of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jim Day and wife Charline of Blackburn, Oklahoma, Joe Day of Pawnee, Oklahoma and Becky Stokes and husband Ray of Choctaw, Oklahoma. Waltina and Cecil adopted and raised two of their grandchildren, Jack DeWayne Day of Woodward, Oklahoma and David Day. 18 other grandchildren, 66 great- grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren. Together Waltina and Cecil have 116 offspring from their union...so far.
Waltina was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Cecil Day, Jr.; daughter Betty Berry; son Johnnie Day; great-grandson, Braxton McLaughlin; brothers H.B. Minney, J.E. Minney, J.H. Minney, Arthur Minney, LeRoy Minney, Harley Carlile, Albert Carlile, Ernest Carlile, and Buster Carlile; sisters Alma Pennington, Jean Friend, Violet Whiles, Lucille Long and Jewel Mills. Waltina's service will be held at First Baptist Church of Pawnee in Pawnee, Oklahoma Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment following at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Maramec, Oklahoma.
