Funeral services for Darrell E. "TrailBoss" Young will be Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the Eshelman Chapel at the Pawnee Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Darrell was born October 23, 1942 to the late Fred Young and Mildred Colbath. He died Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his home in Pawnee at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 5 days old.
During his high school years, Darrell was deployed to the war. He was in the U.S. Navy and very proud of it. Darrell did not graduate high school until 2007 when he was a " enior Senior" graduate of Pawnee High School. After Darrell was medically discharged from the Navy, he went to work in the oilfield and spent many years doing so. Trailboss was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the OU Sooners, playing the lotto, telling tall tales with the boys, and being around his family and friends.
Survivors include his sister Yvonne Holler of Davis, niece Sandy and husband Thad Sandusky of Davis, niece Barbara and Husband Ken Suess of Ada, great nephew Keith Bonham and family of Durant, great niece Ashley Hood and family of Davis, great nephew Justin Suess of New York City, New York, as well as numerous friends and his dog Charlie.
Darrell was preceded in death by Parents, Fred Young and Mildred Colbath, brother Gayle Young, brother-in- law Wayne Holler, and dear friend Billy Wayne Hedges.
Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Bonham, Dustin Hood, Ryan Hedges, Kenny Suess, Chuck Bonham and Jerry "Nate" Roland.
