Lois Katherine (Ellington) Sayre passed from this life to live in Glory with her Savior Jesus on Friday, March 27, 2020. Lois was born on March 23, 1935, in the Lone Chimney community to Chesney and Esther (Taulman) Ellington. Lois was the youngest of eight children and attended school in Lone Chimney, Oklahoma and Maramec, Oklahoma graduating in the class of 1953. Following high school, Lois cared for many patients at the Pawnee Municipal Hospital. Lois met the love of her life Don Sayre and was united in marriage on May 20, 1959. They established their home in Pawnee, Oklahoma where they farmed, ranched, and raised their family.
Lois enjoyed watching her family as they participated in their activities. The trips to Colorado were always a highlight full of fun and adventure. Driving the countryside and viewing the beautiful landscape found across the United States brought her great joy. She was artistic, fun loving, and made the best pies. She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family.
Lois is survived by her children Charlie Sayre and wife Laura of Pawnee, Tom Sayre and wife Teresa of Red Rock, and daughter Kathy Fuss and her husband Paul of Blackburn, Oklahoma. Eight grandchildren Malissa (Dustin) MacKenzie, Elisha (Cody) Sullins, Mathew Sayre, J.T. (Kristan) Sayre, Michal (Tori) Sayre, Austyn, Karli, and Gavin Fuss. Great Grand Children, Blaine MacKenzie, Trent, Logan, and Hunter Buchanan, Gage and Cord Sayre, Alyssa and Caydon Sullins, sister, Carol Meissner, sister-in-law, Nola Ellington and brother-in-law, Dr. John Sayre and wife Patricia, and dear friends, Greg and Shirley Schwab, as well as a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don Sayre, her parents Chesney and Esther (Taulman) Ellington, as well as her in-laws, Elwood and Nila Sayre, her sisters, Mary Ruth Stephens (Jim), Neva Ellington, brothers, Glen, Claude, John (Irene), Joe (Beverly), and brother-in-law Louis Meissner and Jack Sayre.
