February 4, 1950 ~ August 13, 2020

Gary Mack McCubbin 70 passed away August 13th 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Gary was born February 4, 1950 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Glenn and Betty McCubbin. After graduating high school in Stillwater in 1968, he joined the US Army. He then worked at Huffy Bicycle in Ponca City, Swans Hose, MerCruiser, and then at G&M Body Shop from 1984 to 2019.

He is survived by his uncle Doyle McCubbin; brother Mikal and wife Marietta McCubbin; four nephews Jeremie and Dave Ray-McCubbin, Derek and wife Kelly McCubbin, Matthew and wife Christine McCubbin and Trevor and wife Kelley McCubbin; five great nephews Maxwell, Dylan, Dexter, Tyler and Alex; one great niece Kaylee; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Harvey and Berniece Auld and Bruell & Bernice McCubbin. His mother Betty Abenante and father Glenn McCubbin, and brother Monty McCubbin.

One cannot mention Gary without friends. He had so many he had to have three Facebook accounts. Gary was selfless and would help anyone in need. His big heart was always accompanied with a big smile; and his laughter would soon follow suit. He took part in many car clubs and his knowledge of cars was that of reading a hot rod magazine. He could quickly sketch out a fantastic drawing of any automobile you’d like. We all will miss him and hope you live life with a smile.

His final resting place will be Highland Cemetery in Pawnee. Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

A memorial will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 Northeast 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. 405-271-7400. OMRF.org
