Gladys Brim Meeker

Gladys Meeker service held here Tuesday

Funeral services were held here Tuesday for Gladys B. Meeker, 80, who passed away in Blackwell on Saturday, Oct. 3, 1987. Born on June 2, 1907, at Muscota, Kansas to Bert and Lottie (Martin) Brim, she married Walter D. Meeker on Oct 22, 1924, at Pawnee and they lived here.

He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1966, and soon afterward she moved to Blackwell where she has lived since. Survivors include 3 daughters: Mildred Elliott of Quartz Hill, CA; Lottie (Mrs. Cleo) Schone of Rt. 2, Blackwell and Betty (Mrs. Bill) Gile of 1117 So. 6th St., Ponca City. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren plus a sister, Dorothy Mummert of Wenatchee, WA, plus a host of other relatives.

The Rev. Kenneth Romaines, pastor of the Baptist church in Blackwell, where she was a member, officiated at the service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Poteet Funeral Chapel and interment was in Highland cemetery under direction of the Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee.
