Alpheus Lester Moore

WELL KNOWN CITIZEN DIES

The funeral services of Alphens Lester Moore was held last Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Conducted by Rev. Turner pastor of the Christian Church. Mr. Moore was born March 15, 1858 and passed away at his home in Pawnee at 3:20 a.m. Sept 28, 1918. He was 60 years, 6 months and 13 days old.

His parents moved to Missouri when he was 6 years old. He united with the Christian Church while yet a young man of 26 years. He was married to Miss Emma Meeker in 1886. To this union was born four sons and three daughters, one son having died in 1900 at the age of three.

R. L. Moore is in the field artillery at the front having been in France seven months. Sargt. Hugh Moore went over seas in August to fight in the world war for humanity. One son Lester Moore and three daughters, Mrs. Rosa Suell of Billings, Montana, Mrs. Rosa Winovick of Duluth, Minn. and Mrs. Leona Johnson of Pawnee with their mother was with him in his last illness. He also leaves one sister and one brother with a host of friends they have gained during his eighteen years of residence of Pawnee.
