Donald Lee Jackson, 88, passed from this life on July 12, 2018 at Grace Living Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Sandra Ladd at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
Don was born on November 13, 1929 in Butler, Oklahoma to Willie E. “Bill” and Laura Ada (Lachman) Jackson. He graduated from Butler High School and continued his education at Oklahoma A & M College (now OSU) where he earned a BS in Agriculture in 1951 and his Masters in Agriculture in 1954. Don joined the Air Force in 1951, retiring as a USAF Colonel.
On May 10, 1975, Don married Patricia Bolton Talkington Jackson in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
After retirement from the Air Force, Don worked as the District Conservationist for Payne County Oklahoma, as a farm and ranch manager and as a Trust Officer for Liberty National Bank & Trust Company. He was an active member of the First Christian Church, the Lion's Club and American Legion.
Don is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia, 1 son, Jerry Jackson, 2 daughters, Donna Jackson and Kay Jackson Harlan. 2 step-sons, Mark Talkington and Craig Talkington and 1 step-daughter, Jane Talkington, 14 grandchildren and 1 sister, Joyce Arnett.
Preceding Don in death were his parents, Bill & Laura Jackson and his brother, Gerald “Cotton” Jackson.
