John Drake

July 9, 1855 ~ May 2, 1939

Mr. John Drake was born in Payton Ohio, July 9, 1855, 83 years, 9 months ago. He removed to Beshear*, Missouri where he met and married Axelina Merker*. To this union 7 children were born, 5 of whom preceded him in death.

He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. May Bejerona* following a heart attack, May 2, 1939. Funeral services were held from the Christian Church of which he was a member on May 4, 1939 by A. J. Bradshaw.

Those left to mourn his going are one daughter, Mrs. May Bejarano of Pawnee and Mr. Albert Drake of Joplin, Missouri; 2 nieces, other more distant relatives and friends. The body rests in Highland Cemetery.
