Tula Ann Allen was born to John and Francis (Kimmel) Allen of Garber, Oklahoma, on October 29, 1930. She passed from this life February 23, 2018, at the age of 87.
Tula's primary education was in Garber schools. She attended OSU as a home economics major. There, she met Charles Ripley; they married in 1957.
Charles and Tula made their home first in Stillwater, then Ripley, then Pawnee. They were married over 30 years, until his death in December 1988.
Tula was known as a devoted mother and wife, and was always very active in her church, working as a Sunday school teacher with the children's departments on Sundays as well as many Vacation Bible Schools.
She was a talented seamstress, cook, gardener, and bookkeeper. She enjoyed family gatherings, visiting with family and friends, loved to sing, and enjoyed playing games.
Tula was married to Bill Perel in 1992, until his death in January 2013.
Tula was a driver for Mobile Meals and often took food to people that were younger than her, in recent years. She was physically active, walking and exercising at the Senior Center three days a week, and still lived independently. She was always community-minded, and supported her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's athletic and musical events.
Tula recently moved back to Stillwater, where she made her home until her passing. Mrs. Perel is survived by four children, nine grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. From her union with Bill, two stepchildren, four step-grandchildren.
Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in the Pawnee First Baptist Church with Dr. John Coker and Dr. Tim Walker officiating. Interment follows in the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee.
