ENID, OK — Graveside service for Viola Tinsley, 94-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in Blackburn Cemetery, near Blackburn, Okla. The Rev. Tom Scott will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Viola was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Snohomish, Wash., to William and Bertha (Ferrell) Wright and died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Enid Senior Care. In 1936, she married Joe F. Sharp. The couple moved to Enid during World War II, where they owned and operated Okie Joe's Café and the Chuck Wagon Café for several years.
In 1963, she married Phillip Tinsley. She waitressed in Enid at various establishments for many years. During the Depression, she raised five of her first husband's siblings after their parents died. She was an accomplished seamstress and embroiderer.
She is survived by her son, Bob Sharp and wife Elaine of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Patsy Andrews and husband Milton of Poolseville, Md.; stepdaughter, Beverly Iliff of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren, William Thompson of Guymon, Okla., Joe Sharp of Las Vegas, and Heather Andrews of Poolseville, Md.; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two children, Trixie Sharp and infant son, Billy Sharp; and one granddaughter, Tamara. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
