Wanda Elaine Weidman, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away, Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Shawn Manor Nursing Center. She was 81.

Wanda was born July 31, 1927 in McKinney, Texas, the daughter of M.S. Odle and Ruby (Miller) Odle. She received her early education in the McKinney area schools. She moved to the Ponca City community in 1964 and was employed with the Humpty-Dumpty Grocery Store for 24 years. Her enjoyments included playing bingo, reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathi Bussey and husband, Billy, of Ponca City and Paula DeHass of Moore, Oklahoma; one son, Sonny Weidman and wife, Kim, Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Tommy Odle and wife, Pat, of Dallas, Texas and Buddy Odle of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Mildred Mauldin, also of McKinney; six grandchildren, Toni Cloud and husband, Shane, of Ponca City, Jacy Bussey, PassaGrille Beach, Florida, Traci Bussey, Ponca City, David DeHass and wife, Samantha, Choctaw, Oklahoma, Mark DeHass, McCloud, Oklahoma and Carrie Utley and husband, John, of McCloud; 11 great grandchildren with one on the way, Dalton, Payden, Brenon, Shalynn, Christina, Andrew, Aubrey, Katlyn, Brittany, Brooke and Owen. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, Doris Norris, Nadine Odle and Una Fay Odle; one brother, Donald Odle; one son-in-law, Paul Wayne DeHass.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. John Waterloo, Pastor of Central Baptist Church, presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
