Shirley Ann Vickery, 76, of Bartlesville, died Wednesday in Bartlesville.
Shirley was born the daughter of Douglas Anthony and Daisy Mae Dobbs, on September 22, 1941 in New London, Texas. She grew up in Overton, Texas, where her family lived on an oil lease. Shirley had a calf that would follow her anywhere and everywhere she went. After she finished her schooling, she moved to Skiatook Oklahoma, to live near her grandparents. Shirley met Gerald Elliott while working, and soon after meeting him, they were married. She and Gerald were married 20 happy years before his passing in 1991. Shirley then found love again in Vic Vickery, and they enjoyed marriage until his passing in 2014. She then moved in with her son Tony, and has lived in Bartlesville the past two years.
Shirley loved to fish for crappie and catfish, almost as much as she loved cooking them up and eating them. She loved to go camping and enjoyed as much of her time as possible at the lake. Shirley loved to go out to eat with her son, and take rides on his Harley Touring Bike. She loved Lady Bug the long-haired Chihuahua who she described as a real lover. Shirley will be missed by any and all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her son Tony Elliott of Bartlesville; step daughter Debbie Elliott Jones of Edmond, OK; two sisters, Patty Walters of Florida, Carol Eller and David of Skiatook, OK; seven grandchildren, Brittni, Chad, Krissy, Cole, Katey, Kiley and Mikey. She is preceded in death by both loves of her life Gerald Elliott and Vic Vickery, both her parents, and step son Terry Elliott.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9-8, at the Davis Family Funeral Home Walker-Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, at the Humble Road Church, with Pastor Jeff Wickam officiating. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
