Funeral services for Judy Lynn (Carlton) Austin, 67, of Claremore, OK, were held Monday, May 12, 2025, at Hope Community Church in Tulsa, OK. Reverend Adam Yandell officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Michael Bence, Dustin Bence, Grant Lohnbakken, Cayden Lohnbakken, Kendon Henry, and Alex Morrison. Honorary Casket bearers were Michael Carlton, David Carlton, Tony Bobbitt, James Burk.
Judy was born October 4, 1957, in Tulsa, OK to Harold Raymond Carlton and Shirley Jean (Gosnell) Carlton. She passed away May 6, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.
Judy was born and raised in the Tulsa area. She worked in the medical field for many years as a dental assistant then went on to work at Turley Bank for many years. Judy married the love of her life, Douglas Austin, on November 1, 1998. She loved the Lord with all her heart and attended church her whole life. She worked in the Bus Ministry at church for many, many years. Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her 3 kids and 12 grandchildren. The last 11 years, Judy worked as a cafeteria manager for Tulsa Public Schools. She treated her staff as if they were her family as well. She loved getting together with her church friends and playing farkle every week until her health kept her from going. She recently developed a love for doing diamond art paintings and jigsaw puzzles. Judy was a joy to be around and was always kind to everyone she crossed paths with. She will be greatly missed by so many people, but she is now healed and no longer in pain.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Bence and wife, Jacque, and Dustin Bence and wife, Susan; daughter, Toni Lohnbakken and husband, Grant; grandchildren, Kyley, Alexis, Tiffany, Raegan, Sara, Emily, Maddie, Cayden, Lynnley; great-grandchildren, Nikayla, Kynzlee, and Khloe; brothers, Michael Carlton, and David Carlton and wife, Rhonda; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Austin; parents, Harold and Shirley Carlton; and several other close family members and friends.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
