Martin Clay Schmidt, 57, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Thursday May 5, 2016 at the Happy Hill Church at Ramona with Pastor Jack Richey officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Premier Community Services 415 E. 5th St. Bartlesville, or to Employ Ability 501 S. Virginia Bartlesville, OK. 74003.

The funeral cortege will drive overland to the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall where committal prayers and interment will be directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home.

Martin will lie in state in the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville all day on Wednesday to 8:00 P.M where family and friends may call for their visitation, for final rites on Thursday.

Martin Clay Schmidt was born September 16, 1958 at Pawhuska, Oklahoma the son of Andrew Jacob Schmidt and Martha Lee (Hogue) Schmidt.

He was reared and received his education in Barnsdall Public Schools and Hissom Memorial Center in Sand Springs.

Martin loved going to church at Happy Hill Church in Ramona. He loved traveling to Dallas, Texas to watch the NFL Dallas Cowboys play football, and one of his favorite players was Ed "Too Tall" Jones.

He loved music of all kinds and his favorite saying was "I love that soul music". Martin had a collection of over 2,000 CD's and records.

He bowled every Sunday afternoon and Monday scoring 200 points several times with an average of at least 150 points per game. He was an employee of the Employability in Bartlesville. Thank you to all of the employees at Premier Community Services which were like family to Martin, and took care of his every need.

Survivors are his father, Andrew Jacob Schmidt of Bartlesville; and two sisters Sherry Lynn (Schmidt) Gamble and husband Jack of Barnsdall and Katherine Elizabeth (Schmidt) Toon and husband James of Barnsdall; his nephews, David Patrick Toon and Timothy James Toon, both of Barnsdall.

Preceding him in death were his mother Martha Lee Schmidt, uncle, aunt, grandmothers and grandfathers. Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.
