Mr. Kenneth Wayne Kahler 73, of Barnsdall went to be with his Lord and savior surrounded by family, on Wednesday July 25th 2012 in Bartlesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 28, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Barnsdall with Rev. Mark Farr officiating. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home.
Kenneth Wayne Kahler was born October 22, 1938 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Marvin and Doris (Fields) Kahler. He was raised and received his education in Bartlesville, graduating from College High School in 1956. Kenny served in the U.S. Army reserves. He was married to Ruth Allison on July 21, 1990 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Kenny was employed at Baker-Hughes from July 11, 1974 until his retirement on December 1, 1999. Since 2003 Kenny could be found regularly at Garrett's Grill and enjoyed visiting with friends and customers. Kenny was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Barnsdall, and especially active with the Thursday Morning Men's Bible Study. He was very involved with the athletic department of the Barnsdall Public Schools and enjoyed playing golf. Kenny was a devoted husband, dad and papaw and loved his family very much.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Kahler of the family home in Barnsdall; his five children Lisa Jaynes and her husband Jeff and their children Grace, Scott and Olivia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Ken Kahler and his wife Mercedes and their children Samantha and Steven of Castle Rock, Colorado, Shelly Garrett and her husband Matt and their children Jessie and Nikki Swift and her husband Brad and their children Rylee and Adyson of Barnsdall; Lorri Cortez and her husband Vincente and their children Noah and Nicholas; Brian Unkenholz and his wife Jamie and their children Jacob and Ethan of Bartlesville, and one sister Phyllis Blevins also of Bartlesville. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents.
