William A. Barnes, 83, resident of Bartlesville, died Friday May 24, 2013 in Bartlesville.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday May 29, 2013 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Mike McDougan of Comforting Hands Hospice officiating. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall, Oklahoma under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mr. Barnes may do so to: Comforting Hands Hospice 2450 SE Washington Blvd. Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.
William A. Barnes was born October 12, 1929 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma to John L. and Stella Jane (Davis) Barnes. He was raised and received his education in Bartlesville. Mr. Barnes was married to Viola Mae Jackson on June 12, 1950 at Bartlesville. He was employed with the National Zinc Corporation for forty three years retiring in 1982.
Survivors include; two daughters Donna Barnes and her husband Tim of Pawhuska, Oklahoma and Peggy Beers and her husband Ed of Copan, Oklahoma; two sons David Barnes and his wife Gayla of Dewey, Oklahoma and Joseph Don Barnes and his wife Candice of Bartlesville; eleven grandchildren including Nikki Renee Barnes of Tulsa, Jeremy David Barnes of Copan, John David Hanna of Wichita, Kansas, Aaron Barnes, Joe Joe Barnes, Athena Barnes, Josie Mae Barnes, Jessica and Shanna Barnes all of Bartlesville; five great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law Carl Leon Jackson of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Paul Ray Jackson of Kansas. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Viola Mae Barnes; one son Danny Barnes; one granddaughter Tonya Rena Mosier; one sister Reba Conwell and one brother Doyle Barnes.
