Mr. Floyd Everett Allison, 89 of Barnsdall son of Charlie and Lawrence Rachel Allison passed away at home on Saturday September 27th, 2014, with his children at his side.
Floyd was born May 29, 1925 in Osage County near Barnsdall. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, receiving the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and other honorary rewards.
He was married to Dorothy Wanda Miller on April 1st, 1946, and they made their home in Barnsdall. He was self employed as a carpenter for many years; he was later employed at Woolaroc where he retired in 1990. Floyd was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Barnsdall. Floyd and Wanda raised four children, Arthur Allison and his wife Linda, Albert Allison and his wife Eleanor, and a daughter Ruth Allison Kahler and Tom Allison and his wife Shelly, his grandchildren; Lloyd Allison, James Allison, Shelly Garrett, Brian Unkenholz, Melissa Gibson and Richard Allison. He has 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Wanda Allison, his parents and five brothers and two sisters, and one grandchild Janice Allison.
Funeral Services for Mr. Allison will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 1, 2014 in the Barnsdall First Baptist Church with Pastors Bill Spencer and Pat Andrews officiating. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery in Barnsdall under the direction of the Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home.
