Mike was born in Pawhuska, Okla., to Fulton and Sue Jones on Aug. 18, 1957. He was received by God on Thursday, April 4, 2013. During his childhood, he attended school in Pawhuska, Okla.
In 1975, he joined the United States Military, where he spent the next 26 years in the Security Forces Squadron. After retiring as 1st Sergeant at Vance Air Force Base, he began a career as a journeyman in heating and air conditioning.
From day one, Mike was a passionate Sooners fan. He loved the excitement of the game and the Crimson and Cream. In addition to his love for OU football, he was an avid history buff, mainly focusing on military wars. Last, but not least, Mike loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, spending time with his dog Stella Faye, and “fix anything.” But above all, Mike loved spending time with his children and being “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Survivors include his five children, Misty Flanagan and husband Paul of Oklahoma City, Jason Jones and wife Kande of Air Force Academy, Colo., Jeff Jones, Jared Jones and Krystal Jones, all of Enid; his mother, Mary Sue Fortney; nine grandchildren, Harmony, Meghan, Braden, Jayde, Jayli, Peyton, Awner, Haylynn and Annabelle; four brothers and sisters, Steve Jones, Teri Blankenship, Randy Jones and Pam McGee; two loving ex-wives, Kathy Jones and Kelley Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Fulton Jones, and a brother, Fulton Ray Jones.
Memorial contributions may be made to the USO with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds. Online condolences may be left at ladusauevans.com.
