Jimmie H. Armstrong, 88-year-old Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Cushing. He was born on May 19, 1936, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma to Elmer Henry Armstrong and Myrtle Velva (Anthony) Armstrong. Jimmie served his country in the United States Army from 1955-1958. He worked in the oil fields for many years, then later he got into the medical supply business and made syringes. Jimmie also did sheet metal work during his working career; he loved to work. Jimmie was married to Dorothy Lee (Sarty), she preceded him in death in 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, and a son, Randy Lee Armstrong, siblings, Garold Gene Armstrong, Pansy Wiggs, Phyllis Bolen, Harold Dean Armstrong, and Carl Armstrong.
The family includes his sisters, Pauline Collins of Cleveland, Peggy Elliott of Cleveland, Patsy Gamble of Barnsdall, step-son Tom Kemohah and wife Terri of Vinita, special family members and caretakers, Stephanie and Cody Penny of Cushing, numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at the Pawhuska City Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.highsmithfh.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in the care of the Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. "Vinita's only locally owned and operated funeral home."
