Dorothy Mae Cribbet, 89, resident of Barnsdall, died at 09:40 Saturday May 6th 2017.

A native of Monett, Mo. Dorothy was born on February 10, 1928 at Monett, MO. She was the daughter of Thomas Wise Weston and Willia Gretchen Howerton. She was reared in Monett, MO. and graduated from Monett High School in 1946.

She and the late Robert William Cribbet were married on Nov. 10 1946 at Columbus Kansas. They moved to Barnsdall in 1947 where they made their first home. They managed the OTASCO store in Barnsdall and in 1965 they purchased the OTASCO and continued ownership and management until 1987 when they retired.

She was a member of the Barnsdall United Methodist Church. She was also a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her family was the most important thing to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, fixing lunch for them during school lunch hour. You never left her house hungry. She was a kind and generous lady and she loved spoiling her grandkids. Mrs. Cribbet will lie in state at the Stumpff Funeral Home in Barnsdall on Tuesday, May 9th at 10 a.m. and then will be moved to Barnsdall First Baptist Church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. for family and friends visitation.

Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Darlene Smith and husband Danny of Barnsdall. Four grandchildren, Lisa Cassity and husband Stephen of Barnsdall, Michele Bickford and husband Kyle of Barnsdall, Eliot Smith and wife Brooke of Bartlesville, and Jonathan Smith and wife Misty of Barnsdall, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great, great children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in memory of Dorothy Cribbet to Bartlesville Public Schools. The money will assist in the Wayside Elementary Special Education class, where her great-grandson Dake Weston Smith, is a student. Donations can be sent to Bartlesville Public Schools 1100 SW Jennings, Bartlesville, OK 74003. Please write Dorothy Cribbet in the memo line.
