Sandra Hamilton, age 67, passed away June 21 in the OSU Medical Center, Tulsa. Sandra was born July 14, 1944, in Santa Monica, Cal., the daughter of Berbon Bryan and Gertrude (Elam) Murphy. On Jan. 1, 1975, she married Otto Charles Hamilton, Jr., in Las Vegas, Nev.
An LPN for Osage Nation Home Health, Sandra loved being a nurse and taking care of people. She was a member of the Osage Nation, Klash-Kah-She Club, American Legion Post 198 Auxillary and the Nelagoney Alumni Association. In her spare time, Sandra enjoyed reading and was an avid Bingo player.
Surviving are her husband, Otto Charles Hamilton, Jr.; her children, Theresa Flowerette, Trudy Diaz, Amy Kerby, Tammy Kerby, Otto Hamilton, III, Marjorae Williams, and Berbon Hamilton; one step-child, Charlene Cozad; two sisters, Judy Goad and Nancy Burgess; one brother, Foster Murphy; twenty grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Toodles.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Berbon and Gertrude Murphy; children Mary Gertrude Kerby and twin infant boys; one sister, Doris "Dinky" Murphy, and one brother, Charles "Buddy" Murphy.
Rosary was recited Monday, June 25, 7 p.m., at the Indian Camp Chapel in Pawhuska. Traditional Indian Service was held Tuesday, June 26, 8 a.m., also at the Indian Camp Chapel. Mongrain Lookout officiated. Following at 10 a.m., Mass was recited at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Pawhuska. Father Chris Daigle officiated. Interment was in the Lookout Family Cemetery. McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
