Thomas Don "GoGo" Goodeagle passed away on December 3, 2024, at his home in Anadarko, Oklahoma, surrounded by family. GoGo was Osage, Quapaw, Sac and Fox of Kansas, and Pawnee. His Osage name was Wah-Kan-Tah-E, "One who saw God." A 3rd son's name from the Tsi Shu clan.
GoGo was the youngest son of Dolores "DeeDee" Goodeagle of Anadarko and Donald Goodeagle of Walters. He belonged to the Grayhorse District and proudly served as a committeeman for the current Drumkeeper. GoGo loved to attend Grayhorse and watch his children, grandchildren, and family members dance. He looked forward to it every year. He was very proud of his Mary Osage Green Camp.
GoGo married his wife, Yvette, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Together, they made their home in Anadarko for over 25 years.
He was a loving father to five children: Lindsay Goodeagle of Fairfax, Okla., Benjamin Goodeagle of Tonkawa, Okla., Thomasina Rose Goodeagle of Anadarko, Amanda Goodwill of Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Owen Hutcheson of Fairfax. He was also a devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren: Chakah, Farren, Collin, Benjamin Jr., Kyland, Kaiston, Amia, Toncha, and Ivy.
GoGo lived in Fairfax with his grandma Mary Osage Green at The Big House in his younger years. He attended school in Fairfax, where he played basketball and football. After graduating, he pursued a career in the oilfield, working for over 25 years with Parker Drilling, Nabors Drilling, and Cactus Drilling.
GoGo was an avid Oklahoma State Cowboy fan! He wore OSU every day of his life. He enjoyed attending sweat lodge with his wife Yvette until her passing, then he began to sun dance.
Always committed to his people, he served as Arena Director for Grayhorse War Mothers, Osage Princess Sorority, Standing Bear Powwow, American Indian Exposition, and Denver March.
He also helped cook at the Traders Village Powwows in Texas for many years. He loved to joke around with everyone and could light up a room with his laughter.
He was surrounded by a loving extended family and was honored to have many adoptive daughters, sons, brothers, and sisters.
GoGo is survived by his mother, DeeDee; father, Donald; brother, Kenneth Paul; sister, Candace; children Lindsay, Ben, Rosie, Amanda, and Owen Hutcheson; grandchildren; aunt Beverly; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Osage Green; aunt Thomasine Moore; sister Danene Lane; brothers Terry and Ronnie Goodeagle; beloved wife Yvette Goodeagle; and aunt Eunice "Dolly" Lane.
A Wake/Rosary will be held at the Grayhorse Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. An Indian Service will follow on Friday, Dec. 6, at 8 a.m., also at Grayhorse Chapel. A Catholic Service will take place at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fairfax, with burial to follow at the Grayhorse Cemetery.
