Kathy Jenay Wilhelm, resident of Ponca City, passed Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in Oklahoma City. She was 58 years of age.
Kathy was born January 4, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Jack Douglas Waymire and Melba Virginia Penny Howe Waymire. She was a 1971 graduate of the H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas, Texas. She was married to George Wilhelm on September 15, 1974 in Fairfax, Oklahoma. The couple had lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma prior to moving to Ponca City.
She was a longtime member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Ponca City. Kathy was a very patriotic person who started the Kay County Tea Party. Her enjoyments were her family that also included her pet dogs, music, and writing poetry. She will be remembered as a loving, compassionate person that always gave unconditional love and never gave up on anyone. She gave so much to others and had countless surrogate children.
She is survived by her husband, George one daughter, April Wilhelm, Ponca City, and one son, Jesse Wilhelm and wife, Beth, of Norman, Oklahoma one brother, Darrell Waymire and wife, Joann and one sister, Elaine Cruzan and husband, Dick, all of Ponca City. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Ponca City with Pastor David Bigger presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
There will be a private graveside committal service at the Fairfax Cemetery, Fairfax, Oklahoma.
