Larry LaRue was born on February 26, 1941 and passed peacefully from this world on December 21, 2017. He was born in Shidler, Oklahoma to Rex LaRue and Buelah Hall LaRue. He was raised and lived most of his life in Fairfax, OK, spending a big part of his life with his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Hall of Fairfax and Mr. & Mrs. Joe LaRue of Shidler.

In his younger days, Larry liked to ride motorcycles and to race them, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars. Later in life when he could not get around as well he enjoyed watching old movies, his favorites were John Wayne and Sherlock Holmes. He also enjoyed watching movies with his grandchildren as they were growing up and sharing his popcorn with them on occasion.

As a young man, he enlisted in the Navy, after returning home he was a man of various trades, an oilfield worker, firefighter, mechanic, body worker, and painter. He managed and ran Robo Car wash and 77 North car wash, he also worked at Dollar Saver in the gun department for a number of years. Larry raised various farm animals, liked to garden, and was a very well-read person who liked to have a debate over any and all subjects. He could work on anything he put his mind to.

On November 10, 1959, Larry and Patsy Wilson were Married in Fairfax, they lived in several places before finally settling in Ponca City, OK. Patsy preceded him in leaving this world on April 3, 2014. To this union were born 3 children, Bradley, Brent, and Tammy.

Larry loved his family very much and was loved deeply by all who knew him. He was a very special man and we will never forget him.

He is survived by Brad & Betty LaRue, Brent & Tracy LaRue, Tammy LaRue, 11 grandchildren & spouses, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, one brother Charles Ray LaRue and two sisters Sherry LaRue and Jeanne Smith.

Larry will be laid to rest on December 27, in the Fairfax Cemetery next to his wife Patsy at a graveside service. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 24th from Noon until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 26th from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, December 27th, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:0 a.m.

Pallbearers for the service include his grandchildren, Joe LaRue, Jessop LaRue, Ty LaRue, Travis LaRue, Kory LaRue, and Caleb Lowry. His remaining grandchildren are honorary pallbearers.
