Glen A. Hadlock of Fairfax, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at age 85. Glen was born March 8, 1939 in Calumet, Oklahoma to Elizabeth Kelly and Galen Russell Hadlock. He lost his parents at a young age and moved to El Reno, Oklahoma to be raised by his grandparents Mildred and Joe Hadlock. Glen spent his summers working for the Rock Island Railroad during his high school and college years. He graduated with the El Reno High School Class of 1956. He played college basketball for two years while attending Murray State Junior College.
After transferring to Oklahoma State University, Glen became a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and a model pledge, also meeting his future wife Marilyn Myers on a blind date. On December 22, 1960, Marilyn and Glen were married at the First Christian Church in Billings, Oklahoma. In 1963 after graduating, they moved to Fairfax where Glen began his banking career at the First State Bank. They were blessed with two sons James Clark and Joseph Glen. He continued to work for the First State Bank with 45 years of service. During this time, he served on the Indian Electric Cooperative Board, Robert Clark Health Clinic Board and Fairfax Chamber of Commerce serving in multiple positions. He acted as J. Berry Harrison's campaign manager during his initial State Senate campaign.
His love for the sport of golf led him to help build the Kah-Wah-Z Country Club where he served as an active member for many years. Retirement gave him time to enjoy life in the country and continue his interests in ranching. Glen loved being with his sons and grandchildren, encouraging and supporting them with their rodeos, livestock shows and sporting events.
Glen is survived by his wife Marilyn recently celebrating 64 years of marriage, his sons Jim (Kelly) Hadlock, Joby (Chris) Hadlock all of Fairfax, grandchildren Paige Hadlock, Fairfax, Katelyn Hadlock, Lenapah, Hayden (Hannah) Hadlock, Stillwater and J.K. Hadlock, Stillwater, several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, grandson Jim Clark Hadlock, Jr. and great-granddaughter Aspen Kay Gates.
