David W "Dave'' Yerby Sr. former Shidler resident passed away at home Monday, April 10, 2017 in North Carolina. He was 52 years of age. Dave was born in 1964 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Donald K. Yerby Sr. and Alma M. Cottey Yerby.
Funeral Services were held 2 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 in the Webb City Church of God with Pastor Charles Richey officiating. Interment followed in the Burbank Cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City.
Dave grew up in Arkansas and Oklahoma. He married Georgia Turney in 1983 and to this marriage 2 children were born. In the early 90's he opened the Game Room in Shidler, OK.
He met Claudia L Shulman and In 2010 they were married in Sevierville, TN. . He had worked at Kaw Tonkawa and Harrah's Casinos in Construction/Security. During his spare time he enjoyed collecting vinyl record albums in which he had hundreds and writing. Dave wore many hats during his career which took him all over the US.
Survivors include; his wife; Claudia L, 1 son; David Yerby JR of Newkirk, OK 1 daughter Belinda Compala and husband Nick of Blackwell, OK 1 step son; Jeremy Shulman and wife Kristin,; 2 brothers; Jeff Yerby and wife Kelli of Arkansas, Mike Yerby and wife Sharon of Wichita, Kansas 1 sister; Pam Fisher of Webb City, OK and 2 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother; Donnie Yerby and 1 Niece; Angela Jackson.
